Got any pics of it?
I didn't say I was spending $400 BTW.
Maybe I'm fashioning a wheel out of some sort of kangaroo fur to match my Outback D!
I'm not in a rush and will wait till I find a CFC somewhere that needs to be sacrificed for parts

What if you don't care about the cruise control or the air bag and you just want to put on a totally different wheel? How do you "bypass" the air bag sensor thingy? No, I'm not considering it, but maybe someday if D'tan outlives his roadworthyness and gets totally restored as a trailer queen…

Technically it's illegal to remove the air bags on a vehicle equipped with them.

However, if you're going to do it the only way is to pull the fuses and remove the bulb.

Well that's a big ugly monkey wrench. Nice write-up…

Is the removal as easy as this in a Gen2 as well? I'll take my D tomorrow to have it redone with leather matching my seats and the guy over there was confident that he can do everything in 5 hours. According to pics on their page, they know what they're doing:)

Will let you know tomorrow same time!

PS. The place where I'm having the "new" steering wheel done is www.se.ee/?mid=8

I'd imagine it's pretty simple too…

Anyone ever contemplate swapping a Gen 2 steering wheel to their Gen 1?
