|
Okay, just an idea I'm playing with. I picked up a Ram the other day for dirt cheap; cosmetically it's bad. My Durango is good as it sits so the main thing to gain here is the solid front axle.
YA YA YA, I know! Pull the axle and do an SAS. Well, I've done both SAS's and body swaps and know body swaps are much easier!
With all that said, the D is '98 an Ram is '95 so I know the trannys are different. I don't know if this is possible, just an idea I have rolling around. Input anyone?
I no longer have access to the FSM for both rigs, which sucks, but a tape measure works too.

Here's "half" of the info you'll need to see if this is even possible (personally I don't think the D's body will "easily" fit on a Ram frame but who knows??)
See my 10/27/05 post: 98 D frame dimensions
BTW, at least for the D, the above frame info isn't in the FSM but a special Supplement called "Durango Dimensions Joints and Seams" so you might try googling to see if you can find the same info for your Ram's frame.

Ya that's what I was looking for. I use to have them on my computer before the big crash it had a few months back. If only I could've saved some things.

Google SPIKE TV POWERBLOCK. They recently did a multiple episode about your idea but in the opposite direction. They took a 95 era Ram with CTD and did a FRANKEN Ram by using the frame from the Ram and the body from a 70's era Ford pickup. I admit that's a pretty tall order, but it might get you some ideas.

Ya I saw that episode. The nice part is mine's all Dodge stuff so should be an "idea" a lot easier to do.
