Re: Air Hat/Air Cleaner Mounting Gasket

Have the same problem with my 360airintakez on 5.9L. They sent me a replacement airhat and s-bolt (because that was too short). Still the same fit issue. I went to the local autoparts store and picked up a replacement gasket for a couple bucks; so now I'm double stacked atop the TB. I was debating taking a file to the inside edge of the airhat, but decided aginst it. I made my own s-bolt about 1/2" - 3/4" longer than was given. I'm not sure what it is, but with the s-bolt tight to the TB and capped tight enough to bow to the of the airhat, the airhat & tube can still swivel a degree either way with when given some torque force. I cut 3/4" off the straight end of the tube to prevent the S&B filter from hitting the passenger wheel well or braided hoses. This helped prevent some of the gaps in the airhat. I've hit some really rough potholes in Detroit and luckily the whole assembly stays put!

Also, 360 sent me an aluminum s-bracket to extend up from the valve cover to the underside of the 3" coupler - but the bracket won't rest flush to the valve cover (extruded area around screws prevent clean install).

Mine's still a work in progress, but the mileage went up a little and so did the HP. I also use K&N cleaner/lube on the S&B because S&B cleaner was hard to find. No big deal since they both use the same filter element cotton.
