Re^3: Not a good weekend for the D (long rant)

I am looking for the same thing. a nice bark when opened up, but mellow when at steady highway RPMs. From what I can tell, the magnaflow 12579 is the closest to this.

Coincidentally, there is another 5x11 oval Magnaflow, but it is 2.5" in and out (the 12579 is 3"). Maganflow told me that the 3" has a double core which will cut down on interior resonance. especially when towing etc, hence my choice.

I am ordering from Husker for $98 shipped. a local shop says he'll charge $35 to install.

Hopefully this will be the "right" one. I know Flowmasters are well-liked too, but some have said they are a little louder. not that that is a bad thing, but I dont want TOO much volume. so I guess we'll see.
