if it is only the muffler, just replace that unless you want a dual look out the rear. I have a Flowmaster 40 sitting in my garage just waiting for me to get a filler pipe. my muffler is bolted so I am just planning to remove it and put the 40 on. check the pipes with a pair of large pliers. if it crushes at all, or has leaks, then replace the whole thing, otherwise just drop in a muffler.
