I am narrowing my choices down to magnaflow also for the same reasons you state.

Flowmasters as a general rule have more resonance and tend to appeal to those wanting a more noticeable sound. The quieter versions have been reported to be not much different than stock.

We have a Flo-Pro on the RAM and it took some mental-adjustment for me to fully appreciate it at cruising speed.
