Not a good weekend for the D (long rant)

I have to rant a bit and let of steam before I end up in a divorce.

My son's 5th Bday party was this Sunday. in preparation, we rent a large 20'x20' party tent. we pick it up and erect it and then return it. a lot of work but I know the guy who rents them so I get it CHEAP.

Anyways, to haul it, we use a 6.5 foot wide x 10 foot long flatbed trailer that I built from an old popup trailer frame. I normally store it at my father in laws house. it pretty much sits all year except for this. I used to haul my ATVs on it every weekend. but not anymore. it pretty much gets neglected except for one weekend a year.

Anyhoo, it had a flat tire from sitting so long when I went to get it so I had the jack and lug wrench and such from my D pulled and laying in my cargo area when I got home from picking up the trailer. I laid the lug wrench on the bumper of my D at some point. forgot about it when I went to close the hatch. that resulted in a nice big chip in the paint on the edge of the hatch. #$&*! Luckily no dent though.

That was 3 days ago. Well, returned the tent today and decided to store the trailer at my house this time around, feeling guilty about it sitting and taking up space in Dad's yard, and thought that if it were in my yeard I could keep up with it better.

The kicker is, though, my back yard is BARELY accessible by vehicle. there is a f@!@#$%g fire hydrant on one side of the pathway and my neighbors f!@#$%g hedges on the other side. so its like threading the needle with the trailer. the pathway is JUST big enough for the width of the D and trailer. and I have to back it up the hill along this path.

The wife was outside directing me on the hydrant side (passenger side). well, we got the trailer and the back end of the truck thru the eye of the needle OK and I needed to get out to manually lift/move the back of the trailer a bit to get into my gates. I couldn't get out of my side due to the f!@#$%g hedges, so I scrambled over the middle console to the passenger side and proceeded to open the door. BAM!

The wife never told me that I was still right along side of the
f!@#$g fire hydrant. I picked up a nice quarter sized dent and chip with THAT one. And of course, I let out a tyrade of curses, some directed at her (I know, I'm an idiot) and the wife got mad and said "Move it yourself" (probably rightfully so. but I wish she had mentioned the hydrant!). P'o'd more than ever, I got that moved and all by myself. Now I am looking for the name of the paintless dent repair guy. Parking my trailer cost me $75 I figure.

This poor D lasted its whole first year of ownership by the previous owner without even ONE door ding or chip. and in the 11 months I have owned it I have a chip and a door ding.

Some days I feel like I should just stay in bed.

Sorry for the rant and thanks for listening if you made it this far.
