OT: Air leak?

I've recently noticed what sounds like an air leak on the driver's side of my engine. There are several tubes on both sides of the TB above the valve covers (most on driver's side). Some connect to the brake master cylinder, the engine block below the TB and so on. There are also two hoses to plastic 90deg valves at the rear ends on both valve covers, but the two valves look different (size, shape, gasket fitting). I think the passenger side one is the PCV valve. What is the driver's side one, another PCV?I have squeezed and wiggled (techincal term?) the hoses, valve fittings, and even pulled back the braided covers to check for cuts and leads. Nothing, no change in noise. For a minute, I thought the noise was comming from the brass 90deg connector on the fuel rail or one of the valve train cover screws. I don't know if this air leak is an minor/major issue. At startup, the air leak sounds like a whistle (could be the air intake kit overpowering the air leak), but at shutdown, it sounds like an airtank decompressing.
Any ideas?
