The fuel line out of the tank had corroded and burst...Only leaked (like a sieve) when the ignition was on...I had noticed a faint fuel odor in my driveway a week before leaving home...didn't have a leak at that point so I figured we would be OK. Well, after driving 10 hours to the beach, the leak got worse and there were some damp areas on the side of the tank, but it was holding...Kept my fingers crossed. A couple days later it blew out...that was scary...Fuel was EVERYWHERE under there, right next to the cat and such...$900 later ($500 in towing and $400 in repairs) we were back on the road, just in time to evacuate due to the hurricane...I'm not kidding. That was the vacation from hell.
