If you want to elminate it alltogether, shoot it with some clear coat. It's really quite easy. Mask off the paint and door, lock hole, etc. Then spray a light coat on it. You should be able to find clear coat at a parts store or preferably an autobody supply store. Make sure the clear has UV protection.

The clear my company sells has UV protection and it's in a spray can. Remember, only a ** l i g h t ** coat. Too much will make it look, well, fugly and you'll loose the texture of the handles. :-)

Autobody supply stores will sell it. Ask for Transtar #6213.
