Be careful. The service manual says the engine op temp should be 195 deg. Lower temps can cause changes in accelleration and other bad things. I would get your D hooked up to an engine analyzer. There are temp sensors and other sensors all over the place sending singals to the PCM that adjust the timing and mixture. If one of them is bad but not yet throwing an OBD-II code, it could be causing your problem. If you are not overheating, I wouldn't try to lower the engine temp. Normal engine temps promote good combustion. My '67 GTO runs like crap until the choke opens and the temp gets up to about 200 deg.
