If the "Hi" light is blinking, it means the element is open. Most likely, one of the wires in the heated seat element burned up, and opened the circuit. You'll need to have the heated seat element replaced. Apparently this was a problem with quite a few of the '01 Durangos due to the way the heating elements were stored (folded). If you remove the leather cover on your seat, you will probably see a scorch mark where the problem is...

If the other light is blinking, it means that the element is shorted. Either way, the heating element needs to be replaced.

I just went through this recently, and am very happy to have my heated seat working again (also have a bad back).

Dave
