Re: for all you RAM owners

I've got a 2004 RAM 2500. I got it because I wanted the extra tow capability, beefier frame, axles, wheels. It weighs about 800 lbs more than a 1500 similarly equipped and is about $800 more, but you get some things on the 2500 (standard) that you have to pay extra for on the 1500.
Here's what I have:
RAM 2500 SLT Quad Cab; 4X4; Short Bed; Bright Silver Metallic
Hemi
5-45 RFE Auto Trans
Power Towing Mirrors
Light Group
Adjustable pedals
Rear Window Defroster (I heard there were issues with the slider)
Front Bug Shield
Light Group
Body Side Molding
RB-1 Nav Radio
Folding flat floor
Off Road Group (4.10, Limited Slip, Tow Hooks, Skid Plate, Fog Lamps, off-road tires)

MSRP (including 7.25% Tax) - $40,160
Out the Door (w/rebates) - a little over $30,000 tax incl. That includes the RB-1 they threw in because of the shipping screw-up so you might not do as well.

After delivery, I added - Line-X spray in lining; SportMasters TonneauMaster R/T cover; Westin Platinum Series Nerf bars; EGR window visors equivalent of WeatherFlectors; Westin Bed X-Tender.

Hemi is great. Haven't towed with it yet, but gets up to speed in a hurry (easy to red-line the tach (if there was a red-line on it)); generally pretty responsive once you learn how to handle drive by wire (slight pedal lag at first). Rear seat is a little tighter than I expected (DAK QC has more rear leg-room) - it's not a true Club Cab like the Chebby or Ferd.

3200 miles so far; no problems.

Joe
