The problem with a lot of other air kits is they postion the air filter right over the exhaust manifold with nothing blocking the heat from the manifold. Result? Hot air into the intake and a loss of power..DOH! Look for an air kit that has some sort of cold air wall which keeps the filter from getting hot air. The K&N FIRK kits do a good job at this. I personally think the drop in K&N filter is as good as any of the aftermarket filter systems and will be getting the truck to the dyno in a couple of weeks to see if this statement is true.
