I've gotten a response from a few of you to reserve your spot at the meet... THANKS!

Time is drawing closer and faster however so PLEASE send an e-mail to durangodude_nj@yahoo.com if you haven't done so already.

Remember, this is a family event as it has been in years past so everyone is invited. We will have prizes and activities for the kids, MANY MANY door prizes, food and other goodies. There's the normal $20 fee per vehicle. Here's a list of attendees so far, many are bringing their wives, kids, and/or significant others:

- Neil Franklin
- Dwayne Messerschmidt
- Tom Kenney
- Tyrone from MD (sorry I forgot your last name!)
- Bob Roland
- Joe Rudnick
- Steve Smits
- Vinny Wycko
- John Warnet

An awesome attraction this year will be the appearance of a 2004 Ram SRT-10! I got the A-OK from Buhler Dodge in Eatontown NJ to "borrow" one for the day. The only catch is that they actually need to have one on the lot in a month. Apparently, these are very popular and sell quickly (gee, I wonder why?!?!?). :-) Bottom line, if he's got one it'll be there for us to drool over. If not, then I'll try to get a Viper. Here's a list of door prizes so far:

- Pair of Hella Angel Eyes fog lamps
- Complete set of Monroe SensaTrack shocks
- Flowmaster 50 series muffler (2.5" single center I/O)
- Complete set of Autolite 3923 plugs
- Ram Head logo tire valve caps
- Discount certificates from local auto parts stores
- Various hats and other wearables
- Prizes for the kids
- 50/50 (Proceeds going to the Newark DE Assembly Plant Christmas Fund)

Also, thanks to those who have already offered to bring a portable tent!

Here's another reminder and something to make sure you put on your calendars! The Newark, DE Plant Tour/Toys For Tots Drive is scheduled for October 15, 2004. We will also feature the first annual DOC Car Show in which trophies and prizes will be given out.

Now, what's this business of announcing events for 2005 you may ask? Well, that's because this one requires a one year in advance booking! I made a call on Friday of last week to the Ridgewood NJ Events Committee. Each year they present a HUGE 4th of July parade. It's litterally about 2hrs+ long and thousands of people line the streets to attend. I reserved the DOC a spot in the line up! Think about this... It's AWESOME exposure for the club. Thus, if we could get a good blend of trucks, both wildly and mildly modified as well as a few Rams and Daks (Hint Hint! you KNOW who you are!), I see us easily recruiting a few new members. We want to show people that the club is for not just for gear heads (like me). :-) Especially since we're opening up the club to other Dodge truck owners. Car clubs of all kinds are always taking part in this each year.

So mark this on your calendars and give it some serious thought. Keep in mind that it would be a very early AM start to secure a good spot in the parade line, it's first come first serve. I've been in this parade many times and you need to be on line by 5-6am.

Sorry for the long post as it turned out to be a complete NEDOC events update. :-)

Looking forward to seeing you all in June!

John
