I wasn't aware that vaseline could be used. I thought that we should only use the fluid that was meant to go in there so I put some coolant in there hoping for the same effect. That didn't work cause I couldn't get the clamp to slide up the hose enough to get it seated. I ended up removing the "pinch" clamp and putting the hose on, then using a regular hose clamp. That did the trick. :] Thanks for all your help and keep the rubber side down.
