I think the consensus on this forum for checking for a plenum gasket leak is to remove air-intake hat on top of the trottle-body, depress the air intake blades so that you can see down into the intake manifold with a flashlight, or such. If you see an oily film in there chances are you have a leak. Also, some have reported more than normal oil usage with normal driving. Be careful not to confuse black carbon with oil when doing this check. Oil will appear to shine whereas carbon has a dull black appearance.HTH
