Intermittant Ping?

Have had my 2003 5.9 D for almost 6 months now...it has 25k on it...

Have had NO problems with pinging at all...

Well, filled up with gas yesterday and , as I was entering the road after filling up, I punched it and I got HEAVY pinging at the high RPMs...backed off...went 1/4 mile maybe and tried again...same deal...

Parked the truck while I went into the store for about 10 minutes. Came out and left the lot...tried to make it do it again, but could not...Didnt do it at ALL the rest of the way home...

I am running 87 octane fuel consistently.

Thoughts anyone?
