Question about torsion bar lift...

The new wheels/tires rubbed a LOT so my D is in the shop getting a torsion bar and AAL lift. It's a little more expensive than doing the 2" shackle style lift, but I feel a little better about the longevity of the add-a-leaf.

For those of you who have done the torsion bar 2" lift, did you get a true 2" of lift in the front? The shop(a very reputable 4x4 shop) called me today and said that they only got about 1 3/4" of lift from cranking the torsion bars. The AAL gave it a full 2" in the rear though. I won't see it until tomorrow after work, but I haven't seen anyone else mention the same about their torsion bar lift.
