The lower knuckle on the shaft has a bolt in it that fits through a groove in the shaft from the steering box. The upper part of the shaft slides into the upper part. Remove the bolt from the lower knuckle(U-joint) and slide the shaft into the upper shaft. Took me a few taps with a hammer to get it started then it slid freely. Once you have the bottom part off, then slide the shaft out of the upper shaft. Should take you about an hour total. Just remember not to let anything turn between removal and install or your steering wheel will not be centered when the wheels are straight.
