TireDiscounters crossthreaded 4 lug nuts! How do I replace studs?

Per my previous post that I bought a '98 D 5.9L SLT Plus 72K mi, I got her home yesterday and rotated the tires. The previous owner bought BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A's from TireDiscounters about 10K miles ago. I don't think they had been rotated by the way the back rims didn't have dust on them.

Anyway, the two front wheels had two studs each that had been cross threaded. I tried to hand thread a new lugnut and it was just as difficult as the cross threaded one.

Do I need to replace the studs? If so, what is the best way? I'm trying to do as much DIY as I can.

When I was there I lubed the top and bottom ball joints and tie rod ends. How often should I lube these? They looked as if they hadn't been touched in the 10K since the tires and ball joints where replaced 10K ago.

BTW, I absolutely love the truck! It is so smooth and solid. No creaks! Very tight and solid.
