First, I finally landed a new job! After over SEVEN months of unemployment I've been hired by a company out of Brighton MI, Transtar Autobody Technologies. They are one of the largest suppliers of refinishing products in the country and overseas. They manufacture anything from paints, clear coats, polishes, waxes, and under coatings specifically to the auto body industry. My job will be to sell the products to warehouses and distributorships who supply them to body shops and keep visiting those shops to make sure they keep using the products. This is NOT stuff you can buy retail; it's for pros only.
No no no, I won't be relocating or anything like that. In fact, my sales territory is New Jersey from Trenton north through the rest of the state so I WILL BE BUSY!... (not to mention being on the road a TON!). I'm VERY excited about the job and frankly it's one I've been waiting for. Here's their web site: www.tat-co.com I fly out to Michigan on February 8th and will be there for a week for training. Interestingly enough, the reason why they called me in the first place was because I mentioned my involvement with the DOC on my resume! Dan Arcand once told me that purchasing his Durango changed his life and maybe one day, my life would change to because of the truck. He was right.
This brings me to my second announcement. Since this job will require me to drive all over creation, I decided that the D finally earned the right to be pulled off the daily driver list. So I'm looking into buying myself a black 2004 Ram 1500 Hemi Quad Cab with the Thunderoad appearance package. Found it on eBay believe it or not and I'll be getting it from Steve White Motors in NC. The truck is completely loaded with leather, 20's, hard toneau cover, bed extender, running boards and spoiler kit, and the RB1 navigation radio. I posted a pic below. With all the rebates and incentives I'll be able to buy it, not lease. I'm planning to have it before my I go to Michigan. Should be blast driving this thing around to clients! Hopefully I'll be able to let my D sit and prep it for shows, events, whatever. Now all I need is a trailer! ;-) It's not a done deal yet, but regardless if I get this particular truck on not, I'll still be getting a Ram in the VERY near future.
