Locking hubs allow a vehicle to use a front locker in the differential (or even a spool). When offroad the hubs can be locked and the front locker gives the vehicle excellent traction (both front wheels rotate at the same speed since the axleshafts are "Locked" together). When onroad the hubs can be disengaged (preventing power being deliverd to the front wheels) and prevent the front locker from causing steering difficulties.

Since this would apply only to D's with AWD (FT4WD), I am guessing you must have the FT4WD option. I have ot seen any reference to locking hubs on a D since I have started to frequent this forum 2 years ago. I am guessing the hardware to configure this arrangement doesn't exist. I would also say that lockers for the front diff of the D don't exist yet. I have activly researched this and have not yet found any locker for the front diff of a D. Since the front diff of the D is not overly strong (32" tire size max recommended), I am guessing that there may not ever be a locker for the D's front diff.
