Mike the smell is coming from your engine running extremely rich. Could be an oxygen sensor or even leaking injectors or a combination of things. At your mileage it should be covered under the emmissions warranty at the dealer, but you will have to pay for the inspection to determine what is wrong. Them's the rules. Do it before you damage the cats.
