I have had Posi units in the front end of some of my 4x4's in the past. They give an additional traction advantage but like most Posi units in the front end the big question is can you steer it going down the open road. This can make for a dangerous situation as the vehicle will want to go straight ahead in slick conditions instead of turning.
I called the Lockrite people and they were very helpful and informative. They said it is not intended for the open road or steering will be affected. In the mud or loose gravel situations will be no problem. Sounds like it can handle a lot of HP. If you have a 2 wheel drive transfer case like most 98-99 D's do this could be an option for you.
