I just had the pleasure (ha) of doing this on another truck which also has a "reusable" gasket. For my peace of mind, knowing that I can't see microscopic cracks, heat damage(?), or whether it was damaged any way in removal, and not ever wanting to have to do it again, I went ahead and got a new gasket from the dealer. Although transmissions are relatively low pressure systems, for $20, I figured better safe than sorry. But on the other hand, I'm sure they call it reusable for a reason, I'm sure you'd be fine.
