Re: Cat back exhaust

The exhaust pipe comes straight out the back, but not too far. I have seen some where the polished exhaust tip is sticking out 6 inches, because they obviously did not completely set the pipes in the muffler. It lines up perfectly with the notch in the rear bumper cover. The sound is not loud, except at WOT. It sounds better than my 5.0 Mustang during normal throttle. I can not attest to the performance gains of just the cat back system, as I did a whole series of other mods at the same time. I have had my 4.7 for 3.5 years, and when I started doing mods I had a tough time finding parts due to the newness of the 4.7. I beleive I went to the Gisbon web site and found a dealer and just ordered it from them. Kind of funny, because the box UPS delivered in was big enough to fit a body in. Took a couple hours to install, and the hardest part by far was removing the old system.
