Wiring troubles...

ok ok ok... My wife and I drove down to NC to pick up our "new to us" 21' Shamrock Travel Trailer. Before I left I installed my Prodigy brake controller and everything looked great, it even gave me the readings that I was supposed to get when the trailer wasn't attached. We got to NC on Sat morning (Aug 30). I paid for the trailer and hooked her up and we were all set. Well we thought we were all set. The brake controller was giving me nothing, nadda, zippo. It was the same readings as it was when the trailer was not hooked up. Of course, it being Saturday of the holiday weekend NOTHING was open to help me out. We drove home without the brake controller in operation. Yes, I know, STUPID. Although, we made it home A-OK with no problems, I need to get this problem resolved. All my lights worked on the trailer using my 7-pin but no brake controller for some reason. I have a 2001 Durango R/T with the full tow package. Should I visit my local RV dealer and have them just redo the whole 7 pin from hood to tail? If so, what is this going to cost me? Has anyone done this whole wiring thing themselves? Well, thanks for listening and hopefully I can get this thing worked out.
