I don't have a 4.7, never seen one either. It seems like I've read that it has aluminum heads? And a sort of 'hemi head' design? Like the spark plug is in the center of the head, the valves on either side of the spark plug hole. Is that correct? I've worked on vehciles years gone buy with a head design like that. Jap 4 cylinders if I remember right. Lots of blown head gaskets, and cracks between the spark plug hole and valve seats. I don't think I'd ever trust an aluminum head, though they have been used in hi performance engines. I don't even like the aluminum intake on my 5.2. If I start having gasket problems, I'll be looking for a cast iron alternative to the aluminum. Hopefully the 4.7 doesn't have those problems. I guess we'll see shortly on this forum if they don't hold up.
