I posted my complaint to NHTSA last night. Both set of upper and lower controls with ball joints were replaced at 51K miles (extended warranty)on my '00 R/T and I too am very concerned if DC will redesign and replace as I'm sure mine were replaced with the like designed original part...Unless DC has already redesigned them and didn't tell anyone. If so I'd believe (IMHO) that would put them in a worse predicament. Goes to support argument "known or should have known" and dealt with the problem. In the past I've heard of "super secret recalls" where parts are replaced if you complained or brought the vehicle into a dealer, but no notice given to the consumer base in general, also known as TSB. (I'm a Manufacturing Engineer by profession and have seen problem parts redesigned, usually backwards compatible, to upgrade field problems. True DC may not have actually designed the actual ball joint, but they're probabaly responsible for the design specification for the part manufactured by outside supplier.Mike
