The install! If your not fairly mechanically inclined I'd have help. I installed mine myself and I made some alteration to the standard beackets. The result is that when I remove the removable parts the remaining post doesn't intrude on the passenger compartment nearly as much.

As far as what I did I had to first remove the center console of my D. Then once I located the right spot. First the mounting plate had to be shortened by cutting the bottom of the post off and then I drilled a new hole in it and I think I drilled a lower hole in the base plate part of it. after that I had to bend the base plate to fit the contour of the D as best I could. Then shim up the space under individual bolts to get it perfect. After that I had to locate the exact point to drill a hole in the trim of my vehicle. This is the tricky part.
