Orange vs. Green - Anti-freeze questions

Aloha:

I recently bought for my wife's 2001 300M a Prestone Coolant recommended for da hi performance 300M engine called Long Lasting Orange (please don't let my wife know she's got the HP engine she assumes she has the standard engine 8-) and oh yeah, the auto-stick really rocks!). This coolant is supposed to be recommended for all late model cars GM, DC etc. with aluminum core radiators.

Here are my questions:

1) What are the advantages over the traditional Prestone (or other) greenish antifreeze?

2) Since you can't mix them (the green and the orange) have any of you moved over to the new antifreeze and if so did you notice any improvements (i.e. engine running cooler etc...)

3) Would a 1999 qualify as a late model engine if one were to switch?

TIA,
greg
