The truck easily handled all the mountain passes we ran into and never had to shift down out of third gear with the A/C running full time. Used overdrive on all the flat runs at up to 70 MPH with no down shifts on the gentle slopes. We were able to pass anything we wanted to on even the steepest grades with O/D off. I think I can say with complete honesty that the PP3 is all that it claims to be for the low to mid-range. The engine just doesn't have to work as hard keeping the speed up and doesn't go searching for the right gear as it did before. Bamboo has 52,000 miles on it and I've been towing this same trailer for the last three summers.
Overall the D performed flawlessly and did everything I asked it to do without a whimper. I am impressed and in love all over again!
On a side note: just cleaned the 9" Powerstack S&B air filter that Intense Performance sells in the cold air cannister for the first time after 22,500 miles. At DRMR we ran under some very dusty 4X4 conditions for three days and I figured it might be time for a full cleaning when I got home. Although the filter was pretty dirty you could still see some light through it. The inside tube piping, TB air hat and Fastman's TB were spotless. Awesome product!
DRMR was so much fun and like I've said before this club is loaded with some really great people. Can't wait for the Cascade Rendezvous and another chance to 4X4 with some new DOC friends!
