The major problem with the fogs (at least an 98-99, and probably later) is that they are switched in the ground lead AND have a bit of a crock of circuitry that puts the full load current through the headlight switch.

When you get a PIAA510 kit, it comes with a relay. You can wire the relay with the coil where a bulb would go, and draw power from another (new?) fuse.

With some greater effort, you can use the same relay to:
- allow the fogs to be on when the high-beams are on;
- divert the current from the headlight switch;
- still have the fog-light indicator go out when the fuse blows.

I've done this on my '99, but have no idea how a 2k is wired.

as far as the mounting, the 510's are a good size for the hole in the fascia.. they really look like the belong there. However, there is a slight bit of romance (not really a big deal) in mounting them to the existing mounting holes (on 'earlier' models - I hear that 'later' models have a pile of mechanical issues). .. my recollection is that 2k models are the same as '99s in the mounting department..

I have to yank my 510's to replace the lens/reflector assemblies (one of these days).. If I think of it I'll take pictures. (I've already applied the acrylic film - mine from Griot's - to the *new* lenses) ..

on a side note, I noticed that the replacement lens/reflector assemblies for the 510 "fog" version don't have the bulb shroud that the original lamps had.. I wonder what's up there..
