After I explained the sound to several people they all said it didn't quite fit the characteristics of pinging. They also said to check the plugs which would be the tell-tale sign of any problems. Again, they looked exactly how they were supposed to.
I think what I'm hearing is just more of the internals of the engine working thanks to the M1 manifold.
