Cracked windshield

Well, while I was trying to find time to have a small chip repaired, freezing weather returned. The bottom line - after turning on the defroster this morning, Mike heard a lound crack followed by the image of a crack developing along the entire width of the windshield.Anybody know of a reputable national chain or local Maryland company to replace windshields?
