Re: Edlebrock IAS Shocks - Anyone worn out a pair?

I replaced my right rear at 85,000 miles, as it was leaking.
After removing it, I could easily compress it by just pushing
with very little effort. I sent it back to Edlebrock, and got
a new one for free. That was 3 months ago. Just last week,
I received the other 3 from Edelbrock, and I have now replaced
all four. The other 3 were not leaking, however when compressing
them they were somewhat "softer" feeling compared to the new ones.
Once I put them one, and took a test drive, they did feel quite a
bit better. The ride was firm just like it was 4 years ago when
I initially replaced the stock shocks.
Soooooo, in my opinion, yes they do wear out, and the new ones
feel better. 80,000 miles is a lot of wear, even if they claim
a lifetime warranty. I sent the remaining three back to Edelbrock
for the free replacement. Contact Bridgette in the warranty dept.
at 800 221-1666, ext. 2909 to make arrangements for the replacements.
