Angela,

I just drove the road from Lake Pleasant to Crown King last weekend. It is very cold at night there. The temps got down to the low 20's at night. There will be quite a bit of snow from the looks of the weather forecast.

You can get chains for your tires, but be careful of clearance issues. The D has very tight front wheel well clearance and standard chains could cause damage. I purchased SCC chains for the front and rear tires. I have enough clearance due to a 2" lift. My tires are the stock goodyear 265 70r16's (30.7").

The road would probably be very muddy and slippery and the rocks would be difficult to climb. Try to go with a buddy to prevent getting stranded. You would probably benefit from a rear locker due to the slick conditions. The powertrax no sip rear diff looks like a good solution. You should consider taking a high lift jack and some traction aids like old pieces of carpeting, kitty litter, 2x4's, etc.. in case you get stuck on the hillclimb. Here is a picture of my trip last week. Have fun if you go.
