Yes, the PAC-SWIX (the unit I have) will work with any aftermarket stereo (that has a IR remote) on any year durango. The Soundgate units will not work with an '01 or newer D, due to a different technology used for transmitting the signal to the radio. I believe they make a model for just about every type of aftermarket radio though, if you have an '00 or older D.

The only reason to go with a PAC unit is if Soundgate doesn't make one for your application. The Soundgate unit is less hassle to install (it doesn't use IR to send the signal, so you don't have to mount an IR transmitter).
