"These places" is a pretty general statement. As with any other establishment, there are good ones and there are bad ones. This is true for dealerships as well as Jiffy Lubes. I am a general manager at a jiffy lube here in Calif. I can tell you that I flush about 10-20 dodge trannys a month. We stock +3 as well as +4. It is not the fault of "These places" but rather bad management and training by the manager at that location. I would be willing to bet that it is a franchise and not a company store (I work for Shell Lubricants formerly Pennzoil-Quaker state). ------------- By the way the flush performed at most jiffy's including mine is done by placing a "T-tech" machine inline with the tranny. The vehicle is then started, and in a Durango’s case, placed in neutral so the tranny pump will start. This forces the old fluid into the T-tech machine pushing a valve forcing new fluid in. A total of 18 quarts will be forced through the tranny replacing all fluid including torque converter, cooler, and all lines. Check the level and top off if necessary. The dodge dealership down the street from me offers the same service for $90.00 More than my shop.
