Tranny leak and Check Engine light?

I parked my D is the driveway and did not move it for 3 days over the Holiday, usually it moves 10 times a day. The driveway has about an 10 degree slope and a puddle of red tranny fluid was under the D when i went to move it! The skid plate under the tranny was full of fluid also, yet the fluid level in shows fine, according to the stick when the engine is running?

Also today when driving the Check Engine light came on, but i did not notice anything wrong? Could those 2 be linked at all?
