Attaching and wiring aux. lights

First time posting here and I really enjoy the banter and good info. I am planning on attaching a pair of Hella 550 driving lights to a roof rack that is mounted on my D (Thule cargo/luggage rack). It's a 2001 SLT+ with the towing package (larger battery). Has anyone done this, and if so, do you have any hints or suggestions on running the wires from the roof down to the engine compartment and/or dash area? The rack will stay on the roof permanently. I'm hoping I can run the wiring under the stock roof rack running rails so not to put any holes anywhere... Any help is appreciated.
