According to the owner's manual for my '00 D use of Dexron in the transmission can result in shift deterioration or torque convertor shudder.  Since you got it out so quickly, most likely no harm was done.

Use of Dexron III in the transfer case is acceptable according to the owner's manual, so no harm was done at all.
