Blake Collins 99 5.9L SLT [PacNW]

How can you tell the difference between the upper, lower ball joint failure or whether it is the control arm or wheel bearing failure? All of which will make the wheel not track right and move when lifted. Sorry if this is just down right aggravating! Thanks
