Thanks, Glen. I pretty much followed the procedure except, I didn't have a torx, so I removed the whole assembly in one piece(looked in owners manual first). However, it took me several minutes to

1.find the right socket size (3/8 too small, 7/16 too big?!  
  DON'T TELL ME... METRIC?  Argggh! 11 mm - TOO big. I thought
  I had a 10 mm socket. Where is it? Found it- UNMARKED! Arggghh!)

2.Get the alignment pin to release. This is where the "coaxer" came
  in handy. Pull as I might on the headlamp assembly, that alignment
  pin was too tough. Had to remove the airbox to use the coaxer. Good
  excuse to get a "Z" tube? Heh, heh, heh!
