Heater control

Well, since its been below freezing for the last couple of days, I've been using the heat alot.

My question, with the heater control setting at the spot just before the defrost (the little picture of what would seem to be defrost and cabin vents) where does the heat come out?

When I have mine set there, there is not really any air flow from the vents.
