I have installed a couple of the subs for people. As for the quality of the sound, it all depends on what your level of expectation is. If you have a stock head unit and just want a little extra bass, it will probably do for you. If you think you will be able to crank it up and shake the D, you will be very disappointed. If you have an after-market amplified system, the sub will not be able to keep up at all.
As for installation, it is challanging. You need to be willing to tear the back part of your D apart. The rear passenger quarter-panel needs to come out. To do this, you need to remove the rear sill plate as well as the upper panel where the 3rd row seat belt is. You will also have to remove the rear doo sill panel as well as the panel where the second row seat belt is.
You will need to drill a new hole for the rear power outlet, as it must be relocated. If you do not have the rear power outlet, you must drill a hole to pass the harness through.
You pass the harness through, hook up to the amp, then set the amp into place and set the panel back into place as far as you can. You will then need to adjust the output of the amp. Once you have it dialed in, you need to drill 3 holes from the back of the panel into the sub. (we added 6 to hold it more securly for off-roading) Attach the sub. then put everything back together. It will probably take you several hours.SDBrian
