Well, since I am not a performance enthusiast anyway, here's my 2 sense...180 vs 190 is not a lot of difference...my stock 190 opens at 186, and stays open till about 180 (tested with a calibrated digital thermometer) with the thermal link screwed into the bleed plug...so my stock 190 is really a 186. Most thermostats have a band of about 5 degrees, so theory tells us that your 180 may be a 185, or...your 190 may be a 185...not a big difference. And remember, once you are hot...you are going over 180 and staying there...so as far as performance goes...it doesn't matter...You may fool the computer by a few degrees, but honestly you are only causing it to pollute more and you are waisting gas...
