Real-world results have been rather different from those crash tests; I know several Dakota owners who have been in front-end crashes (from the B-pillar forward, they're the same vehicle) and walked away from them, while the insurance institute's tests indicate they should have gone home in an ambulance or worse. 狢 know there have been some DOC members with similar experiences.

Crash tests in a controlled environment are one thing, real-world collisions are quite another.

This is not to say that you can't be hurt, but rather that the tests need to be examined closely and not taken as the gospel truth.
