A U-Haul trailer is 2,100 lbs (my son works there) and I would guess the Maxima at 3,400 or less, you would be at your D's max of 5,500 lbs. Since the Maxima is FWD and weight is an issue, maybe a U-Haul dolly (less than 1,000 lbs) would be better. Backing up with a dolly though is like pushing a rope, so don't paint yourself into a corner in a rest stop parking lot.
